The Freedberg Family Kosher Food Pantry provides Kosher food and personal care items, including assistance for pharmacy and transportation, to members of our community experiencing financial difficulties and are unable to afford food and household items for their families.

As an emergency food pantry, applicants who have registered will be able to access the food pantry once per month. In order to continue to receive services from the Freedberg Family Kosher Food Pantry, documentation must be renewed annually. The agency may review documentation at anytime if deemed necessary.

All requests for service are kept strictly confidential.

To visit the pantry you must provide the following information:

  • Connecticut state-issued proof of residency will be required.
  • Proof of residency within the last 30 days.
  • Acceptable forms of proof may include: drivers license, nondrivers identification card, utility bill (dated within 30 days), SNAP benefits letter, Care4Kids, SSI, school registration or free lunch forms or Section 8 housing voucher.

Support the Kosher Food Pantry

Schoke JFS welcomes contributions to the food pantry of the following non-perishable items. All food items donated must be Kosher and have a valid expiration date:

  • Fish: Canned Tuna, Salmon, Gefilte Fish, Sardines, Anchovies
  • Fruits and Vegetables (Fresh, Canned, Jarred, Instant Potatoes)
  • Milk (Fresh, Dry, Evaporated, Shelf-Stable)
  • Non-Dairy Milk Products: Soy, Almond, Rice and Coconut Milk
  • Cereals: Boxed Cereals, Hot Cereals, Oatmeals
  • Rice and Pasta (Boxed, Bagged)
  • Grains: Breads, Crackers, Cookies, Pancake Mix (1)
  • Soups (Canned, Boxed, Bottled)
  • Spreads: Peanut Butter, Jelly, Jam
  • Cooking Supplies: Oils, Vinegar, Condiments, Sugar, Salt, Spices

Donations can be dropped off at our Stamford location at 196 Greyrock Place, Stamford, CT 06901 Monday-Thursday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM and Friday 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Purchase items for the Freedberg Family Kosher Food Pantry on Amazon. Orders are shipped directly to Schoke JFS. If you prefer to drop off your donation please contact Jen Bernstein at JBernstein@ctjfs.org to arrange drop off or for more information.
