Our Vision for the Next 50 Years: Building a Stronger Community Together

As we celebrate 50 years of making a meaningful difference, we look forward to the next chapter of growth and impact. With the support of our donors, volunteers, and community partners, we’re focused on addressing some of the most urgent challenges facing our community. Here’s our vision for the next 50 years:

The mental health crisis continues to rise, and Schoke JFS is poised to meet that challenge. Schoke JFS intends to double its ability to serve the increasing number of client referrals we receive daily. We intend to expand our graduate school internship training program, to provide for the next generation of therapists. As the number of daily referrals increases, Schoke JFS will double our current staff to meet the needs of our community. As various needs grow Schoke JFS will provide specialized treatment to children and adolescents, in addition to the families and adults we currently serve. This expansion will increase access to therapy for individuals and families, and by growing our social groups and support networks, we will provide more opportunities for connection, healing, and empowerment, ensuring that no one faces these struggles alone.

As food insecurity rises, we are determined to step up our efforts to feed the community and ensure the availability of Kosher products. Schoke JFS does not currently have adequate space to store all the food necessary to feed all who knock on our doors. We need to acquire space to accommodate the growing needs of the food insecure in our area. We learned during Covid that we needed a mobile option to reach all in our large catchment area. Schoke JFS will need to purchase a second mobile pantry and secure adequate funding to fully staff and provide for an ever growing population of food insecure families and individuals. This will enable us to store and distribute food efficiently to both our brick-and-mortar food pantry and our mobile food pantry, helping us reach more families and ensuring they have access to nutritious and Kosher food, especially as demand continues to grow.

With the aging population and the increasing complexity of caregiving, we understand the pressing need for accessible, affordable senior care. We will expand our senior care programs, offering comprehensive support to seniors and their families, from home care assistance to essential resources. Our mission is to make sure that seniors can age with dignity, and families can navigate these challenges without financial strain.

Our goal is to create multiple new volunteer opportunities over the next five years, providing additional hands-on ways for individuals and families to actively contribute to the community. We aim to further engage local schools and youth groups, creating meaningful opportunities for children and families to learn the value of service while directly helping others in need.

These four critical goals will guide our next 50 years of service. Together, we can continue to make a profound difference in the lives of those who need it most.
