Salary Range: $75,000–$95,000, commensurate with experience

Key Responsibilities

Philanthropy & Donor Engagement

• Manage a portfolio of donors and prospects, with a focus on cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding gifts at the annual and major gift levels.
• Oversee the annual fund appeal and targeted fundraising campaigns, including solicitation materials, mailings, and follow-up.
• Lead donor acknowledgment and stewardship processes in collaboration with staff, vendors, and board members.
• Collaborate with the CEO, CSO, and Board Development Committee to
• Promote planned giving opportunities, including the Grinspoon Life & Legacy program, to grow the agency’s endowment.

Strategic Partnerships & Community Relationships

• Serve as a relationship-builder across the community, engaging synagogues, businesses, foundations, and civic leaders as partners in Schoke JFS’s work.
• Collaborate with the Community Partnerships Manager to ensure smooth handoff of high-potential volunteers and community partners into the donor pipeline.
• Build and steward partnerships that yield not only donations, but also professional expertise, volunteer leadership, and advocacy.

Events & Campaigns

• Serve as primary staff lead for major fundraising events, including the annual gala, donor appreciation events, and cultivation gatherings.
• Manage fundraising committees, campaign chairs, and volunteer leaders in the successful execution of events and campaigns.
• Collaborate with the Director of Marketing to design and execute donor communications, newsletters, and publicity materials.

Board & Leadership Engagement

• Support and guide the Board of Directors, board chair, and fundraising committees in their fundraising and stewardship roles including to identify, engage, and cultivate new donor prospects.

• Train and coach board and staff in effective donor engagement strategies.
• Provide reports and data analysis on fundraising outcomes, donor trends, and partnership growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience in fundraising, nonprofit management, or related field.
• 5+ years of successful experience in fundraising, donor relations, or partnership building.
• Proven track record of cultivating and soliciting individual and institutional gifts.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to engage diverse stakeholders, including donors, volunteers, and board members.
• Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to balance multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with donor databases and Microsoft Office; experience with Salsa, GiveSmart or similar CRM preferred.
• Familiarity with Jewish communal life and Fairfield County community preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Organizational Engagement

· Partner with SJFS leadership to execute SJFS’s strategic vision
· Lead or co-lead cross-departmental working group meetings and track progress
· Help facilitate internal and external stakeholder engagement in the planning process
· Surface volunteer and partnership opportunities that directly advance strategic goals

Community Partnerships & Outreach

· Build and maintain partnerships with synagogues, schools, civic groups, and local businesses to engage volunteers and advocates
· Represent SJFS at community festivals, synagogue events, and service fairs
· Design and execute outreach events that deepen our visibility and impact

Volunteer Pipeline Development

· Design a volunteer engagement model that is welcoming, mission-aligned, and impactful
· Recruit, train, and support volunteers, especially through partnerships with groups, rather than only individuals
· Work closely with the Relationship Managers to build pathways for committed volunteers to deepen their involvement as advocates and donors
· Implement systems for recognition, storytelling, and reporting impact

Program & Event Support

· Serve as the internal connector between staff needs and community capacity
· Coordinate logistics and volunteers for major seasonal projects (e.g. food drives, holiday deliveries)
· Collaborate with the food program team to ensure volunteer efforts are efficient and meaningful
· Support marketing and communications around community engagement in collaboration with relevant staff

Qualifications

· 2–5 years of experience in nonprofit community engagement, partnership development, or volunteer leadership
· Exceptional relationship-building, public speaking, and facilitation skills
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
· Comfort working both independently and collaboratively with senior staff
· Commitment to advancing equity and dignity for diverse populations

Preferred:

· Experience with cross-functional project management
· Familiarity with Jewish culture and local community organizations
· Experience in donor cultivation or fundraising campaigns
· Bilingual in Spanish, Russian, or Haitian Creole is a plus
· Available for occasional evening or weekend events

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Facilitating psychotherapy sessions with individuals, couples, family, etc. Completing all necessary documentation pertaining to the therapeutic process promptly (biopsychosocial, comprehensive treatment plan, clinical progress notes, and discharge summary).
• Meeting with each client(s) as clinically indicated, providing psychotherapeutic interventions and psychoeducation

• The clinician is expected to advocate on behalf of their clients
• Demonstrates competency in age related or specialty issues and developmental needs for each population served
• Works with clients to develop appropriate discharge plans utilizing natural supports
• Maintains collaborative relationships with family members and other service providers
• Responsible for maintaining client and staff records according to agency policy

Additional Agency Responsibilities

 To ensure that the agency continues to provide the broadest possible range of professional services to the community, clinicians will be responsible for additional duties on an individually assigned basis.  Consideration will be given to clinicians’ personal interests, professional skills, time commitments, and agency needs.

 Qualifications

• All eligible candidates must have one of the following independent licenses in Connecticut (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, PhD, or PsyD)
• Part-time: Clinicians who are looking to provide a minimum of 10-20 hours of availability per week
• Full-time- Clinicians who are looking to provide a minimum of 35 hours of availability per week
• Psychotherapists that may be looking to grow into leadership roles/supervisors
• Strong character matters - integrity, honesty, adaptability and quality of care Ability to safeguard confidential information and to use discretion with sensitive topics; acceptance of people in a wide variety of lifestyles.

Physical Demands

Minimal to light physical effort is generally required in performing duties in an office environment. This position requires sitting (90%), standing (5%), and walking (5%). It requires computer work involving extensive use of keyboard, mouse, monito, and standard office equipment at efficient speed; and occasionally requires lifting materials of ~15 lbs.   

There are full-time and part-time positions based in Stamford or Fairfield that may require at times working from a different office. EEO. Salary is negotiable based on experience.
